THANATOS: Promoter 'Fuck-Up' Is To Blame For Greek Cancellation

January 11, 2005

Dutch deathrashers THANATOS are "very sad to announce that both [their] shows in Greece, scheduled for January 15 (Thessaloniki) and January 16 (Athens) have been cancelled at the very last moment," according to a statement from the group received by BLABBERMOUTH.NET.

"We'd like to state that this is definitely NOT the band's nor the label's fault, 'cause we would have loved to play in Greece after all these years," the statement continues. "The booking agency (Astra) simply did not send the plane tickets they had agreed to pay for. So THEY fucked up, not the band! We heard something similar happened to German thrashers DESTRUCTION with the same promoter recently…

"THANATOS and Black Lotus Records hope to arrange some new shows in Greece in the very near future! Once again, sorry to all Greek thrashers and deathsters out there for not being able to perform for you. We will be there later this year if we find the right people to work with!"

THANATOS' fourth full-length album, "Undead. Unholy. Divine", was released last summer through Greece's Black Lotus Records. The follow-up to 2000's "Angelic Encounters", "Undead. Unholy. Divine" was produced by Hans Pieters and the band at Excess studios in Rotterdam, Holland and was mastered by Attie Bauw (JUDAS PRIEST, SCORPIONS, GOREFEST).
